SWOL Accounts for all players intending to tryout for the basketball team

With tryouts beginning on December 1st, it is required that all students that intend to tryout for the Rock Springs Boys Basketball team, create a SWOL account. This is to replace the emergency cards of the past.
ALL PLAYERS MUST FOLLOW THE BELOW STEPS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY ON DECEMBER 1ST.

Rock Springs High School
Athletic Training Department
2014-2015

Dear Parent or Guardian and Student Athletes,

Prior to participating on a team from Rock Springs High School, athletes must provide the Athletic Department with current address, emergency contact, insurance, medical alert, health history information and acknowledgement of Athletic Training procedures. To expedite this process for you and for coaches, Rock Springs High School uses an online data entry system.  Your athlete will have this account for the remainder of their time at RSHS. We ask that you update this account regularly.

We highly recommend that you print out the directions below.  The directions will walk you through everything you need to know to set up and fill out your SWOL account

·       To enter your information, visit www.swol123.net. The first time you visit the website you will need your School ID which is RSHS Sports Med.  You will also need to enter your personal email address (we recommend a parent’s) and click Get Password.

·       If you have multiple children participating in athletics at RSHS, you will need to set up a separate account for each child. You can use the same email for each account, however the passwords must be different for each account. Let me know that you need to set up multiple accounts and I will help you through the process.

·       If you already have an account, please do not create a second account! Simply update any information that may have changed and switch your current sport to reflect the proper season.

The following steps will walk you through how to set up an account on this online data entry system:

Joining SportsWareOnLine

Your request to join SportsWare will then be sent to the Athletic Trainer for review.

**If you do not receive an email within a couple of days, please check your spam/junk folder

Once your request is accepted you will receive an e-mail with the Subject “SportsWare Password request”.

Online Apparel Order Form Ready

As with last year, Universal Athletics is offering us a few amazing deals on Basketball Shoes, Socks, Travel Gear, and T-shirts.

For this season we have chosen to go with a white based shoe. It is not mandatory that players make their order through Universal, or even buy a team shoe for that matter. However we are offering the most popular shoes through Universal Athletic with the colors we are asking for at amazing prices.

ONLINE ORDER FORM

The Store will be open for a week and will close next Tuesday, November 11th.

We ask that all players purchase the travel gear. Under Armor runs a bit big, so know that going into your order.
All else is optional.
All orders are final and non-refundable. Which means that you may need to try a pair of shoes on to know your size as different brands fit differently.

Also, If you are unsure as to whether you will play or make the basketball team in December, we will be doing a separate order after our teams have been made. Bear in mind, however if you choose to order later in the next scheduled delivery, due to time constraints, you will not be able to get your order until the first of January.

Mandatory Parents and Player Meeting, Nov. 3rd, 6:30 PM

Due to the fact that the season has been pushed back two weeks, we are put in a bit of a bind with regards to apparel, shoes, travel gear, and the like.
To get this information out, as well as a detailed schedule and signups for tryouts, we will have a mandatory parents/players meeting in Tiger Arena at 6:30 P.M. on Monday October 3rd.
This will be great opportunity to meet the coaches, get schedules for the season, get information on fund raising, get information on spirit packs and kick off the new season on the right foot.

Any questions, please contact Coach Einfeldt at einfeldtb@sw1.k12.wy.us

Open Gym Schedule/Calendar

The 2014-15 basketball season is upon us.
We are extremely excited about this upcoming year and the memories that will be made.

Due to the new rules from the WHSAA, we are not allowed to start official practice until December 1st. This puts us into quite a crunch seeing as our first tournament is scheduled for December 11th.
This puts an increased premium on open gym and camp involvement.

Below we have included a schedule of the Open Gym/Camp dates leading up to December 1st.

You may also find our schedule on our google calendar here.

Regional Weekend Recap

The Rock Springs Boys Basketball team traveled to Casper this past weekend to participate in the annual 4A West Regional Tournament. Last year the Tigers finished with a fourth place seed going into the State Tournament.

At the beginning of the year, the team sat together and decided on team goals for the season. Making it to the Regional Championship was a goal for the Tigers, and they did just that.

Beating Evanston at home the week before was a big help for Rock Springs as that put them in place to play Green River in the first round of Regionals. Playing the win-less Wolves was no match for Rock Springs on Thursday night. Rock Springs beat Green River for the third straight time this year. The Tigers came out with a bang and obliterated the Wolves 63-32.

Friday evening brought an interested matchup between Rock Springs and Natrona. So far this year, Rock Springs always came up short and could not find a way to beat the Mustangs. However, after winning the last three games, Rock Springs had a lot of confidence knowing that it was a team that they should beat. And the team did just that. Leading the Mustangs by 10 most of the game and at one point 16, the Tigers were able to grab their first win against Natrona on Friday. One thing that stood out was how well they played together. The offense moved smoothly, and Natrona was unable to beat Rock Springs 3 times. The rock solid defense was tried and tested, but stood in place.

Securing the win against Natrona sent the Tigers on to the Championship. Facing the Trojans was a challenge, one that Rock Springs looked forward to. Rock Springs split games this year with Kelly Walsh. Each winning a game at home against each other. While the Trojans play a physical type of play, the boys team wasn't afraid to matchup with them. Rebounding was key to winning the game. With Kelly Walsh's huge big men, it made second chance points a big issue. Unfortunately, Rock Springs struggled to grab boards and played a tough physical game but ended up being no match for the Tojans as they ran away with the Regional Championship.

Rock Springs will play in the State Tournament next week on Thursday at 12:00 PM in Casper. The Tigers will first face off with Cheyenne Central who surprised Sheridan in their Regional Tournament. Rock Springs already beat Central this year, but nothing is ever given. You can catch the game in Casper or listen on 99.7 FM.
